KateMillerHeidke-2010
Australian pop darling Kate Miller-Heidke joins us June 18.

Our Friday, June 18 show, as part of FestivALL Charleston, just got more international flavor with the addition of Aussie pop-songstress Kate Miller-Heidke. She has received a lot of attention for her “Facebook Song,” whose full title can’t be written here on the Mountain Stage Blog

Her song "Caught in the Crowd" was "Song of the Day" recently at NPR and she'll be appearing at five Lilith Fair stops this summer.

Showtime June 18 is 8pm. All seats are reserved $29, available ONLINE, by phone at 304.561.3570 or at Taylor Books, downtown Charleston.

Here's the video for "Caught in the Crowd."

BillKirchen-2010
Bill Kirchen

Legendary honky-tonk guitar man Bill Kirchen has just joined the line-up for Mountain Stage’s Sunday, June 20. This living legend of guitar is the distinctive guitar tone behind the early days of Commander Cody, including its signature hit “Hot Rod Lincoln.”

Kirchen is prepared to release Word to the Wise on May 25, which features cameos by some big names, including piano by Commander Cody, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Dan Hicks and Maria Muldaur.

The man known as “The Titan of the Telecaster” habitually gives legendary performances, so I’m sure his short visit with us will be no different. If you need any proof, just type his name at YouTube and let the fireworks begin.

Here’s the title track from his last CD Hammer of the Honky Tonk Gods.

Showtime is 7pm and tickets go on sale WEDNESDAY, May 5 at 10am and are $20 in advance, $29 at the door. All seats are reserved. Order ONLINE or by phone at 304.561.3570, or pick them up in person at Taylor Books, downtown Charleston.

Also on the bill are Dierks Bentley & the Travelin’ McCourys, Canadian country manFred Eaglesmith and legendary harmonica whiz Charlie McCoy.

He references Bristol's rich history in this Knoxville.com feature.

Marc Cohn

While you're there you can pick up tickets to our special Friday, June 18 performance featuring an extended set by "Walkin' in Memphis" singer/songwriter Marc Cohn, Gurrumull,  and (just announced) Kate Miller-Heidke. Show time for this one is 8pm. All seats are reserved, $29, plus applicable fees, across the board.

Both of these events occur during FestivALL Charleston,  the city-wide arts and entertainment festival in the Capitol City. It's a great
time to experience Charleston, with all sorts of great music, visual art, dance, theater and plenty of family fun.
